 4th Annual Masters Lacrosse Ice Breaker Tourney
The North Shore Cowboys hosted their 4th Annual Ice Breaker Tournament again this year in what has become the official opening of the BC Masters season. The tournament featured some of the best that BC has to offer in both Division 1 and 2 classes.
Last years Division 1 winners, the Ladner Pioneers, were shocked to find themselves playing for Bronze while the gold medal game featured the Coasters and North Shore in Division 1. The Coasters came out hot taking the lead and holding it for the entire game but it took a post shot with three seconds left to knock the Cowboys out in a 12-11 action packed final.
In Division 2 the defending champion Vancouver Justice also found themselves playing for Bronze while the revamped Surrey Firefighters played off against the new look South Fraser Stickmen for gold. The Firemen scored first taking an early 4-0 lead and never looked back as the Stickmen managed to bring it within two during the third period. The final score was 8-3 for Surrey.
